Our haulage services have recently been given a boost with the introduction of a brand new Volvo FH500 44T GVW truck.
The vehicle arrived at Stressline in March, and was immediately put into the fleet by Jodie Fox, Stressline’s Senior Operation and Transport Manager, after a demonstration by Volvo on the vehicle’s capabilities.
At Stressline, we now have a fleet of 8 vehicles, including 4 artics and 4 rigids, 2 of which have hi-ab cranes. Like the existing vehicles, the new truck will be capable of carrying up to 29.5 tonnes – an essential asset for a Stressline truck, as Jodie Fox explains:
“Because we manufacture and deliver heavy duty structural building products – with hundreds of tonnes worth going out every week, our vehicles must be able to carry the products around the UK, safely and efficiently.”

Back haulage service
Stressline’s fleet of vehicles are an important part of the business and allow us to reach almost every part of the UK. The new truck will cover around 63,000 miles in a year, with the whole fleet doing a mileage of almost 500,000 collectively every year.
This is also going to increase
as our plans are to add to the fleet by another two vehicles by the autumn of 2016. Another rigid and artic will join Stressline, putting our fleet into double figures.
It is because of this increased focus on transport that Stressline have launched the back haulage service which will enable us to utilise our vehicles on both legs of the journeys and help our partners, customers and suppliers, as well as the environment.
