On the 30th September, we will be hosting a coffee and cake morning at our head office in Stoney Stanton – all local customers and suppliers are welcome.
The event is being held to raise funds for the national cancer charity Macmillan following their initiative to encourage people to meet and greet and to fund raise to help the fight against cancer.
Macmillan is one of the UK’s leading cancer charities. Now over 100 years old, their services are accessed more than 9 million times. Their ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in 2011 raised over £10 million for the charity, and their help with cancer patients and survivors and fundraising initiatives saw them recognised as the number one charity in the Brand Index in 2013.
Last year’s success
Our event follows on from a successful coffee and cake morning last year, which raised funds to the tune of £205 for the charity. This year, we are aiming higher and are encouraging customers and suppliers from the area to pop along and enjoy a lovely cuppa alongside trying the plethora of cakes being made by Stressline staff.
Whilst the cakes have not yet been made (obviously), there are rumours of what we are going to be experiencing for the day which include a good old fashioned chocolate cake, a coffee and whiskey cake, a ‘clean’ cake; made by our own health and fitness guru, and a white chocolate and strawberry cake. More will be added to this list as ideas flood in (and of course, the BBC’s Great British Bake Off starts again.)
Don’t forget your cash
The event on the 30th starts at 9.00am, but people are welcome to pop along whenever they like. Personally I would encourage you to turn up early so that you get the pick of the cakes! We will be closing up shop at around 3.30pm, so that our management team have enough time to do the dishes.
If you would like to pop along, everyone is welcome, and if you would like to contribute a cake please contact us at marketing@stressline.net…
… oh and don’t forget to bring a few quid to put in the pot. Thanks!
