The conference and trade show season ended this year at Elland Road in Leeds, home of Leeds United FC with the Howarth Trade Show.
The trade show, organised by the builders’ merchants Howarth Timber featured over 70 exhibiting suppliers including Stressline, and we all welcomed hundreds of visitors from Leeds and beyond – after the M62 traffic cleared that is!
Howarth did a great job of organising the event which was held in the conference pavilion opposite the main stadium at Elland Road. On a bright but bitter day, the trade show got off to a slow start because of major traffic problems on local motorways.
The event visitor attendance picked up however after the traffic was cleared, and we talked to a great many visitors during the day.
British beer and snacks bonanza
For this show, we introduced our British Beer & Snacks Bonanza competition where we offered beer and snack boxes full of delicious British treats to 6 lucky winners who visited our stand.
This initiative created a good deal of conversation with the visiting public and was a huge success in obtaining enquiries for our products.
The beer and snacks competition was introduced not only as a show incentive but to also designed to promote Stressline’s British heritage – something we are very proud of.
Cast stone wonder
Our most popular product at the show was our Stanton Cast Stone range of products, which many builders identified as a great product to use for their current and future projects.
“My customer couldn’t stop talking about it!”Mike, Local builderOur cast stone products are all hand made on our Leicestershire site and are vapour cured for a quicker, more consistent quality finish. We also offer a matching service with our steel lintels to ensure that the cast stone product is made to work alongside our steel lintel without a compromise to the integrity of either item.
Our new cast stone sample boxes also contributed to the high level of interest in the products. Mike, a local builder commented on the cast stone products:
“I have used your cast stone before and I loved it! In fact, my customer couldn’t stop talking about it for ages. I will be using it again, as I have a project coming up after Christmas. This sample box will help a lot.”
The Howarth Trade Show was the last this calendar year, but we will certainly be involved in more next year. They are a great way to meet builders and customers face to face and get a feel for what the market needs.
